Gray FiveM Minimap - Postal Codes (GRAPHITE) — ESX minimap for FiveM (screenshot 1 of 6)

Gray FiveM Minimap - Postal Codes (GRAPHITE) — for ESX, QBCore, Qbox & standalone servers

Gray FiveM Minimap - Postal Codes (GRAPHITE) is a hand-rendered custom minimap for FiveM: neutral grey — the best balance of terrain relief and road contrast. This build uses the postal codes base map, where the full postal grid is baked into the texture, so every player reads the same number off the minimap that they call in on the radio — zero client frames, zero server resources, nothing to desync. It drops straight into any ESX, ESX Legacy, QBCore, Qbox or standalone GTA V roleplay server as a normal resource — no framework dependency, no database and no configuration.

Key features

  • GRAPHITE palette — every layer recoloured separately, not a filter over the stock map
  • Postal Codes base map: the full postal grid is baked into the texture, so every player reads the same number off the minimap that they call in on the radio
  • 6144 × 9216 in game, rendered at 2× supersampling from a 12288 × 18432 master
  • 78 stream files — same ~113 MB VRAM as the stock GTA V map, so no performance cost
  • Real bathymetric water depth, glowing coastline and a three-tier road hierarchy
  • Works with ESX, ESX Legacy, QBCore, Qbox, vRP and standalone servers

Full description

Gray FiveM minimap (GRAPHITE) — postal codes. Neutral graphite. Balanced grey terrain with clean, bright road tiers. A hand-rendered custom minimap for FiveM that drops straight into any ESX, ESX Legacy, QBCore, Qbox or standalone GTA V roleplay server. Instant delivery, lifetime updates and Discord support.

How the gray palette reads in game

Graphite is the compromise palette: dark enough that coloured blips pop, light enough that the terrain relief and the hill shading stay visible. Of the twelve, this is the one that shows the most map detail without ever competing with your HUD.

The postal codes base map, explained

The postal grid is rendered directly into the minimap texture. Every postal number and street name is part of the image at the resolution the game samples it at, so there is nothing to draw and nothing to keep in sync. It costs zero client frames and zero server resources, it cannot desync from a script, and it works for a player who has just joined before any resources have streamed. Every player reads the same postal number off the minimap that they call in on the radio.

The trade-off: The numbers are fixed. If you renumber your postals or run a custom postal set you need a re-render rather than a config change — which we do for free, but it is not instant.

What you get

  • One drop-in FiveM resource folder: pityus_minimap_gray
  • 78 stream files (DXT5 .ytd texture dictionaries and .ydd geometry) plus fxmanifest.lua and client.lua
  • Game resolution 6144 × 9216, rendered at 2× supersampling from a 12288 × 18432 master
  • Roughly 113 MB of VRAM in game — identical to the stock GTA V map, so there is no performance cost to switching
  • Coloured LOD map so the pause-menu map matches the minimap
  • Lifetime updates and Discord support

How this FiveM minimap is rendered

Nothing here is a filter dropped over the stock GTA V map. The source map is taken apart into semantic layers first — ocean, bathymetric depth, coastline, terrain relief, hillshade, three road classes, labels and label halos — and each layer is recoloured independently. That separation is what lets the gray freeways stay bright while the residential grid stays quiet, instead of every pixel shifting hue together. Water depth is a real bathymetric gradient with contour lines, the coastline carries a glow that hugs the shore, and the road network is separated into three tiers so freeways stay continuous while the city fabric never turns to mush.

The exact GRAPHITE palette

Every band below is a separate layer in the renderer, which is why the twelve palettes look like twelve different maps rather than twelve tints of one. These are the values used to build this map.

Deep water#0D1013The deepest bathymetric band, furthest from shore.
Mid water#171B21The middle depth band between the shelf and the deep.
Shallow water#242A31The shelf right off the beach, where the depth contours sit.
Coastline#D5DCE5The glow that hugs the shore and makes the island read at a glance.
Low ground#141719Sea-level terrain: the basin, the beaches and the flats.
Mid ground#252A31The first elevation band — most of Los Santos sits here.
High ground#3A4049Hills and the Vinewood ridge.
Peaks#4B525DMount Chiliad and the highest bands of the northern range.
Minor roads#6F7883Residential streets and service roads — the quietest tier.
Major roads#BCC5D0Arterials and boulevards.
Freeways#F4F7FBThe highway network, always the brightest road tier.
Labels#D2D8E1Street names and, on the postal build, the postal numbers.

Installation — two minutes, any framework

  1. Drop the pityus_minimap_gray folder into your server's resources directory.
  2. Add ensure pityus_minimap_gray to your server.cfg.
  3. Restart the server and rejoin. Tell players to clear their FiveM cache if they still see the old map.

No framework dependency, no database, no configuration. Works with ESX, ESX Legacy, QBCore, Qbox, vRP and standalone servers, and sits happily alongside any HUD, radar or postal script you already run.

Which servers run this one

The default recommendation for a general-purpose roleplay server. If you want players to read both the road network and the terrain, and you do not want the minimap to have an opinion about your brand colours, run this one.

Worth knowing before you buy: It is deliberately neutral, so it will not reinforce a strong brand colour the way Crimson or Cobalt does.

Also available

The same GRAPHITE palette is also built on the No Postals and Google Style base maps, so you can change base map without changing the look of your server. All 12 colour themes — Black, White, Gray, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Purple, Pink, TOPO Night and TOPO Day — are available across all three base maps in this category.

Frequently asked questions about Gray FiveM Minimap - Postal Codes (GRAPHITE)

Which frameworks does Gray FiveM Minimap - Postal Codes (GRAPHITE) work with?

All of them. A minimap is a streamed texture resource, so it has no framework dependency — it works on ESX, ESX Legacy, QBCore, Qbox, vRP and fully standalone servers, alongside any HUD or radar script you already run.

How do I install Gray FiveM Minimap - Postal Codes (GRAPHITE)?

Drop the resource folder into your server's resources directory, add the matching ensure line to server.cfg and restart. Players may need to clear their FiveM cache once to see the new map.

Will a custom minimap hurt my server performance?

No. The map ships at the same resolution and roughly the same VRAM footprint as the stock GTA V minimap (~113 MB), and it is a streamed texture rather than a running script, so it costs zero client frames and zero server resources.

Can I get this palette on a different base map?

Yes. Every one of the 12 colour themes is built on all three base maps — postal codes, no postals and Google style — so you can change base map without changing how your server looks.
